Object caching

Fantastic plugin. I’ve avoided these types of plugins forever, but this one is so well thought out and has just the right number of options, so it works exactly like we need. (And even supports CDNs!)

The only issue I noticed is that saving the plugin options bypasses the object cache, so the new settings don’t take effect unless you manually clear it.

We’re using Redis with the WP-Redis drop-in.

If you have a GitHub repo, I’d be happy to look at it and do a PR.

Hi,

Is there anyway to have different above the fold CSS for different WP pages? If not, are there plans to add this capability in the future?

Drop down menu not working on mobile devices

Hi there, I have read and tried everything I have found, but no matter what I do, which options I select, I cant get the drop down menu to appear when in mobile mode.
This is my site http://firstcoastcpr.com
Right now I have
Optimize HTML Code? Yes
Optimize JavaScript Code? Yes
Also aggregate inline JS? Yes (so the drop down menus (when an option is highlighted) in the desktop sites works.
Exclude scripts from Autoptimize: seal.js, js/jquery/jquery.js (this ones are already there)
Optimize CSS Code? Yes
Exclude CSS from Autoptimize: admin-bar.min.css, dashicons.min.css (pre populated)

I have also noticed that this plugin doesnt play nice with Slimstat plugin. And my Authorize.net seal in the footer disappears too.

But the most important is to have the drop down menu appear and be active on the mobile sites (phone and tablet)

I really want to use this plugin to optimize my site but I cant if the menu wont work.

thanks

Not sure what the cause is but in the last week I’ve started getting an “Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content” warning from Pagespeed Insights.

Remove render-blocking JavaScript:
https://s0.wp.com/wp-content/js/devicepx-jetpack.js

Prior to this was getting a 98 rating mobile/desktop. Have not changed anything in Autoptimize or any other plugins.

Any ideas why this issue just popped up?

Hi I was recommended your product and wanted to use it but when I did it conflicted with another plugin or plugins and brought my site down. I use a host called sitegorund and their caching plugin SG optimizer and I think the conflict was with that plugin. I am looking at other plugins but wondered if you had any experience or advice to make using your plugin safe with my other plugins ?

Issues Generated by Using the Above the Fold video

First off, I want to start off by saying that the video posted in the Eliminate Render Blocking CSS was very helpful to my site [http://www.researchwrestling.com]. My desktop score was 66 before doing that and afterword it jumped to 88 – a pretty incredible jump I must say!

After following what the video showed, I experienced the following issues:

1. The Google Ads in the widget had the picture associated with the ad disappear, with only a text link remaining.

2. When you click on Article in the main header bar – it briefly flashes an image before it disappears – though if you hover over it, you can tell that there is still a link you can click on. In that specific Category menu item, there should be three posts.

After watching the video, I did a thorough screening of my site BEFORE I did it so that the issues would jump out immediately.

I am a novice when it comes to WordPress. I am starting to learn a little bit here and a little there, but this is something that after a full day of research I couldn’t find the help elsewhere.

It’s worth noting that I have two other sites [http://www.researchchristmas.com] and [https://www.researchfantasy.com] that I want to apply the videos functionality to in order to help their score, but I want to see if I can get help with these issues first. ResearchFantasy is a year old and actually had a pretty strong first year [60k+ visits] so I don’t want to implement this and have something go wrong.

I am using the Extra theme by Elegant Themes, as well as the Divi Builder. I have the Above the Fold Optimization plugin installed and activated as well, but I did not do anything to it in terms of setting anything up. It is still the same as the day I installed it. I have not tried to remove that to see if that fixes an issue since I don’t think it is actively doing anything on that site.

Sorry for being long winded. I am just trying to provide as much information as possible to see if this is something really simple that I messed up on or if it is a little more complicated.

Thanks for the plugin, as outside of these small issues, it has really pumped up the score on Google for all three.

Keep getting these emails:

Autoptimize’s cache size is getting big, consider purging the cache. Have a look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/faq/ to see how you can keep the cache size under control.

Even though the plugin was deactivated then deleted some weeks ago. I reinstalled it, cleared the cache, then removed it again. Still getting the emails.

Cleared WP Cache’s cache too.

Hi Frank,

I’m experiencing a bit of what this person was having difficulty with (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/unable-to-deactivate-inline-and-defer-css/); however, logging out and back in doesn’t fix it for me.

It’s not just the “inline and defer css option” that I can’t turn off, it’s actually any “advanced” option that I’ve turned on.

Things I’ve tried:

– emptied browser and server caches
– tried Firefox (51.0.1), Edge (38.14393.0.0) and Chrome (56.0.2924.87)
– deactivate / reactivate
– deactivate / delete / install / activate

Here’s a list of other plugins I have running in case you know of any known conflicts:

Hi Frank.
In google speed test I keep on getting failing results for Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content. I know we cant do much about the javascrpit as it is keeping my mobile drop down menu working. But how about the CSS?
On pingdom I get combined external CSS

My options right now are
Optimize CSS Code? Active
Also aggregate inline CSS? Active
Inline and Defer CSS? Active and I copy and pasted the css above the fold that i got from the above the fold plugin
Exclude CSS from Autoptimize: admin-bar.min.css, dashicons.min.css

On pingdom I get combined external CSS

Hi,

I just integrated my CDN in wordpress and entered my CDN root directory in Autoptimize settings. All is working fine only here I face an issue: https://www.ausbildung-fitnesstrainer.info/ils/ – the slider image & counters are not working anymore. If I disable the CDN root directory in Autoptimize all is working as expected….

Do you know how to get it resolved?

Cheers

Conflict with Elementor Pro

Hi there, I’ve been using Autoptimize for a long time and worked fine, loved it. I’ve recently bought Elementor Pro, a page builder plugin. Unfortunately there’s a conflict between the 2 plugins so I had to deactivate Autoptimize. What I’m saying is that Autoptimize is a great plugin, but does not tolerate Elementor Pro. The Elementor team knows about this issue, I think Autoptimize team should be informed as well. I’d return using Autoptimize if the conflict was solved.

Hi, Frank.

My site has CSS problem with my theme When I active Autoptimize plugin. I created a test site with the same theme and created an admin user account for you too and have sent the login info. to your email box. The theme is the S2Clean same developer with the plugin Comet Cache.

In the mail that I have sent to you included screenshots of the page before and after active the Autoptimize plugin too.

The second problem is why still have 7 blocking resources on Mobile and Destop After turn on the Autoptimize plugin. Detail info. about it in the mail too.

Big problem with frontend text editor

(I’m using the translator, so something may not be understandable.)

I’ve created a page for visitors to submit articles, but the rich text editor is buggy and does not load javascript.

The problem is that it is composed of several javascript and I do not know which ones to disable in optimizepress to solve the problem.

Disabling jquery, tinymce, MediaElement.js and tadv.js can get the toolbox to appear, but the buttons that change to CODE are still buggy.

——–

I was able to temporarily solve my problem by activating “also aggregate inline JS” ..

However, the site’s text fonts before the page load are strange… Not to mention that the generated cache gets very large… This is bad?

I wanted to be able to: Disable Autoptimize on only one page. Or find out which javascript I need to exclude so as not to conflict and bug the rich text editor.
