Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid regular expression flags

Have the strangest issue. This was working fine and now suddenly the main menu doesn’t load. Browser console shows “Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid regular expression flags”.

Happens when I activate “Optimize JS”. So I loaded the same theme on another test site (just has demo data). Loaded all the same plugins and it works just fine:

I went through all plugins, disabling them and enabling one at a time to try and find conflicts but nothing.

Saw another similar thread and the user was directed to exclude a JS script. So I have a conflict somewhere, just can’t find it.

Autoptimize uninstallation problems

I have installed Autoptimize together with W3 Total Cache, in order to get the Above The Fold optimization.
After seen that too many features of Autoptimize are equal or conflict with W3TC, I have decided to uninstall it. Problem is that the moment I done that, W3TC minification stopped working and started generating errors.

So I uninstalled W3TC completely from the blog, made sure the .htaccess files returned to there default, and installed again W3tc, but the problem maintained.

Seems like the Autoptimize left something behind him after it have been uninstalled.

My questions are:
1. Do you guys aware of this problem and can give me directions on how to resolve it?
2. What exactly Autoptimize modify in order to apply its customizations? I looked into the .htaccess file and have not found any code of yours.

Can’t work on my website anymore using the backend

Hi all.

I have been using the autoptimize-beta Version 2.4.0-beta-3 version.

Some examples of what I can not do anymore:
– save the widgets shifting (Widget Logic plugin ): I can shift them, but my changes are no more saved, automatically or manually;
– upload images (images of all sizes download well, but the action ends with an “HTTP Error”);
– access my image library (the loading icon of the library runs forever in an infinite loading loop);
– search for new plugins from the classic interface of the back-end: once again, the loading icon runs forever in an infinite loading loop);
– delete disabled plugins (error message: “Failed to delete: 0”);
– make modifications with the WPBakery plugin (page editor): the text / images / etc block windows open well but do not display the contents anymore.

Get Autoptimize To Work With Thrive Architect

Hi all,
I’m using Thrive Architect and Thrive Leads on my website.

I would like to minify my JS and CSS files using Autoptimize but I keep running into lots of weird issues with Autoptimize activated.

I have added some exceptions to the Autoptimize settings, but I keep having weird CSS problems.

I’m just wondering if anyone is successfully using both of these plugins together..and if so how are you doing it so it doesn’t mess up your entire site.

CSS option off breaks site

I have a problem with Autoptimize breaking the plugin Cue by AudioTheme. If I uncheck the CSS option in Autoptimize it fixes the Cue plugin but breaks the CSS on the web site. You can check on my staging site here https://munsllc.staging.wpengine.com/ or here https://munsllc.staging.wpengine.com/jukebox/

BTW the live site is here https://musiclibraryreport.com and exhibits the same behavior if I uncheck the CSS Option.

“Inline All CSS” option breaks URLs with Forms

Hi,
When I activate Inline All CSS options under the ‘CSS Options’ my links with the forms embedded in them do not open. Those pages do not load.

How can I exclude those URLs with forms embedded in them to work while this option is activated? By the way, I use WPForm Lite. Both the plugins have been working properly until I activated this option.

Woocommerce Not Clearing Basket

Hi

Plugin works great and gets me 96% page scores in GTMetrix

I have just noticed though that once an order has been placed and paid for the basket still holds that item.

I have unticked
Also optimise shop basket/ checkout

## I have also ticked the following
Optimise HTML Code?
Optimise JavaScript Code?
Optimise CSS Code?
Generate data: URIs for images?
Also aggregate inline CSS?
Save aggregated script/CSS as static files?

The rest are all unticked.

Autoptimize caching old css URLs on site move

Hi Frank,

Got a weird one here. So today I’ve been testing some internal preview mechanisms we have on the server. So the scenario is someone moves their website to us, they get a preview URL. So I imported a site to test but the CSS was lacking FA icons. Looking at the browser console I saw the errors:

Redirect from ‘http://wpnex.us/wp-content/themes/herald/assets/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.7.0’ to ‘https://wpnex.us/wp-content/themes/herald/assets/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.7.0’ has been blocked by CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ‘http://96.125.178.146’ is therefore not allowed access.

If I deactivate Autoptimize the icons do show. So the theme CSS has the URL hard-coded I guess like:

url(//wpnex.us/wp-content/themes/herald/assets/css/../fonts/fontawesome-webfont.eot?

Do you have any idea why they’d show with Autoptimize disabled. If Access-Control-Allow-Origin was the issue surely the console would throw an error with AO disabled?

Just scratching my head a bit on this one.

Using Autoptimize on a multiple instance server

Hey Autoptimize team,

My dev team really want to make use of the Autoptimize plugin on our site but we are setting up a server environment with multiple parallel instances running that are load balanced. This means that whenever we visit the site, we are not sure exactly what instance we are hitting.

The way the Autoptimize plugin works seems to be storing the “Autoptimized” CSS & JS files in the uploads folder, but this presents a problem for us as we are never sure which instance we are hitting. So each HTTPS request to the server could hit a different instance, even for one page load.

Do you have a solution for this as the plugin seems to be exactly what we are looking for to optimize our site’s page load weight.

Any help you could provide would be super helpful!

I got this js snippet

I tried searching jQuery.datepicker.setDefaults in my whole site *.php;*.css;*.js;*.html, and can’t find the code where it came from. I can’t exclude “jQuery.datepicker.setDefaults” either.

What can I do to find the source of this?

Images not loading from MaxCDN

I have just installed so the plugin is the latest non-beta release and WP is up to date. I’m running a custom child theme on Genesis which is also up to date. Can someone tell me what am I missing to get the resources to load from the CDN instead of my server?

Pre-Gzip

Hi Frank,

I’ve enabled the pre-gzip by adding in my functions.php:

add_filter(‘autoptimize_filter_cache_create_static_gzip’,__return_true);

I can see via ftp the .gz files have indeed been created.

You say in the FAQs you need to configure your webserver to use these files instead of the non-gzipped ones.

How does one do this?

Currently i have removed the following lines from my htaccess


# Gzip
<IfModule mod_deflate.c>
AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/css (removed this)
AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/javascript (removed this)
</IfModule>

My thinking was that doing so would mean the server won’t try to gzip css/js. Is this the correct method to use?

When i view the AO files in developer tools it shows they are gzip.

Can you tell me if i have set this up correctly?

Enable optimization for admin area

I wonder if there is any way to enable Autoptimize for admin area? We have really lot of articles and plugins about how to speed up wordpress, but not as many for admin area. Our blog authors team also need a fast editor to work.

For now, I have many css and js files from pluins and none of them are combined to make fewer server requests. I know about CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS option in wordpress but it does not combines all the scripts and styles, only some of them.

Am I doing somethins wrong?

cache size is always zero, why?

I have used Autooptimize for a long time. In the past, when I would hover the cursor over the Autooptimize button on the top menu bar, it would display a positive number for the cache size and number of files. Then after I manually cleared the cache, the numbers would drop to zero. But in the last few weeks, it always says the cache size is zero and there are zero files. So now I wonder two things: does Autooptimize now automatically clear the cache, or is the plugin broken?

But when i view developer tools the file is loaded before the red line.

Shouldn’t deferred scripts load after the red line?
