Bonjour,

Bien cordialement.

Good morning,

I installed and activated your plugin yesterday, kept everything in the default settings and the Page Speed Insights went high quite significantly so that’s exciting.

However, I am not able to see the website anymore because it doesn’t load. I’ve tried both my laptop and phone and all I get is the loading image. Based on data from Google Analytics, it seems like not everyone has the same issue since there are visitors interacting with the site.

Could you please help me with a solution so I can actually see our own website? This is a time sensitive matter.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi there,

I have received the following error in console (in tablet/mobile view):

at autoptimize_fb57d77e0b13877d1678568dee26eec3.php:156

This error come usually the second time the homepage is refreshed and not on first load. In addition, when the error is shown the hamburger mobile menu no longer opens and a “#” is added at the end of homepage URL (www.mysite.com/#). I am using Litespeed injunction to Autopmtimize as well and tried Js exclusion rules in both plugins with no avail. Currently these are the excluded JS in Autoptimize:

wp-includes/js/dist/, wp-includes/js/tinymce/, js/jquery/jquery.js, wpkqcg-admin-pkg.js, wpkqcg-admin-pkg.min.js, wpkqcg-pkg.js, wpkqcg-pkg, wp-content/cache/autoptimize/autoptimize_ba30ac3932fc2735488792cc3e5077fc.php.min.js, qrcode-v2.js, qrcode-v2.min.js, themes/oceanwp/,jquery.min.js:2, 27283.js:1

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Broken script when template literals are not followed by a semi-colon

Hi, a fellow developer here.

As reported more than one year ago in this thread:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/crash-plugin-when-using-template-literals-without-semicolons/

jsmin-php seems to break any script where a template literal is not followed by a semi-colon. No other optimization plugin or minification scripts seem to do that.

Is there anything Autoptimize can do in addition to reporting this issue to a library that has not been updated since Dec 6, 2018 and has not replied to your previous report?

Thanks,
Luigi.

Search Bar Issue & No Speed Improvement

Hi Team,

I recently downloaded Autoptimize in an effort to improve the speed of my website (hustleescape.com).

Having set up the configurations as per the below, a search menu has appeared below the footer on every page. In addition, I temporarily deactivated the plugin and the search bar still appeared to be showing.

I have now reactivated and the issue remains with the below configurations ticked:

– Optimize JavaScript Code
– Aggregate JS-files
– Optimize CSS Code
– Aggregate CSS-files
– Optimize HTML Code
– Minify excluded CSS and JS files

No other settings are ticked on the JS, CSS & HTML tab.

Please advise on a fix.

Separately, so far I note no improvement in website speed on PageSpeed Insights since downloading. Is there any obvious reason why I’ve not seen an improvement based on the above setup?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Any clue what i am doing wrong here?

Duplicate main thread tasks for mobile

When I check with Pagespeed Insights, the mobile report includes duplicates of the page and Autoptimize .js files.

See here: https://pasteboard.co/JhAd5gC.jpg

But there is no duplication for the desktop report.

https://pasteboard.co/JhAdrIz.jpg

When I uncheck Aggregate JS-files, the problem is resolved. But, of course, all .js files are then render blocking and the performance degrades.

It only occurs on Pagespeed Insights. When I check with WebPageTest for mobile, all is fine.

Is this just a glitch with Pagespeed Insights? Or is there a way to change settings in Autoptimize to avoid these duplicate files?

Autoptimize breaking a single page

I have since disabled the plugin as this page has the single most important form on our website. The page has two ninja forms, one being a health applicaton and the other being a simple request for help form (help form just has email action)

The health app uses ninja forms webmerge plugin -the only difference between this and the other ninja forms pages on the site (No other page breaks other than this page)

It shows as an entirely blank page when autoptimize is enabled.
optimize JS is turned on, aggregate is not.
excluded: wp-includes/js/dist/, wp-includes/js/tinymce/, js/jquery/jquery.js, wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js, wp-includes/js/backbone.min.js, wp-includes/js/underscore.min.js

optimize css is on, so is aggregate and aggregate inline,
excluded scripts:
wp-content/cache/, wp-content/uploads/, admin-bar.min.css, wp-content/plugins/ninja-forms-best-advice, wp-content/plugins/ninja-forms, wp-content/plugins/ninja-forms-webmerge, wp-content/plugins/ninja-forms-conditionals, wp-content/plugins/ninja-forms-multi-part, wp-content/plugins/business-reviews-bundle

optimize html is on.

misc:
save aggregated script/css as static: on
Minify excluded CSS and JS files : off

Hi Frank,

I hope you’re well. I wanted to ask – what happens when the cache reaches 100%? Does it automatically purge? I’m having to spend more time away from the computer making stuff products our business, so I’ve noticed the cache has been growing which is why I’m asking. Thanks a lot for your help.

Feature Request: CLI options

Hi,

Autoptimize is great. However, I like working with wp-cli and Autoptimize lacks wp-cli functionality (apart from the clear command).

I believe that having the ability to use Autoptimize with wp-cli would be really helpfull for people having to manage multiple WordPress sites (hosting providers, web developers, sysadmins, etc).

Thank you

Feature Request: Lazy loading other CSS files like Google Fonts

Hi Team,
I love the way you guys handle the Google Font optimization. But I think it would be a really nice feature if more CSS files can be lazy-loaded. Many sites/theme uses font awesome v4.7, dashicons on the front end and those things always load synchronously and render-blocking. So, if there was an option in the Extra section where let’s say I can add fontawesome.css, dashicon.css etc. and the just like the system lazy load the google fonts when enabled, these CSS files will also lazy load, that would be awesome.

Thanks again for the amazing plugin.

Site broken on Safari after deleting cache

Hi there,

I’ve been working on a client site and deleted the cache to try to get the site to update changes on mobile. Unfortunately after doing so, it appears that the site isn’t loading on Safari. A few pages load if I click them, but the homepage looks like it’s stripped of all formatting and several other pages won’t load.

I can’t see any other caching plugins the client has or anything that would have caused this problem. I reverted any changes I’d made to the CSS or Javascript.

I tried deactivating Autoptomize and it didn’t change anything. I am a bit out of my league here.

Please help!!

Optimizing download speed

Perhaps I am now asking a stupid question, however, I want to deal with this.
I use the Autoptimize plugin – it helps a lot.
But PageSpeedInsights has some guidelines, for example:
1) Eliminate rendering blocking resources
/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_8122774a9b436d266adcffc5c50ff728.css
2) Remove unused CSS code
/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_8122774a9b436d266adcffc5c50ff728.css
3) Remove unused JavaScript code
/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/js/autoptimize_6732613d6065578dcde9e40bb5df3261.js

And also recommends “Reduce JavaScript code execution time”

Question: Am I configured something wrong? Or it should be.

Cache full – Is it a problem with enough space?

Hello! I wonder if when the cache is full and the red light is blinking with 2.39 GB, is it a problem in case there is enough free space in the server?
Should I still delete the cache and turn off the inline JS option or if there is enough free space just leave it as it is?
