[Bug] New information regarding Autoptimize and Slimstat

Hello,

I love Autoptimize. I brought almost all my pages to PSI 100/100.

A small problem remains. There had been reports, that sometimes Autoptimize and WP Slimstat will not work together. I think, I found some hints about that.

I use Slimstat together with Autoptimize and WP Fastest Cache.

– WPFC is only used for Deflation and the final caching of the rendered HTML files. All HTML, CSS and JS Options are switched off.
– For Autoptimize, I have enabled the options “HTML Optimize”, “JS Optimize” together with “Combine Inline JS”, and “CSS Optimize” together with “Combine Inline CSS” and “Insert CSS Code inline”.
– I have excluded “wp-slimstat.js” and “SlimstatParams” from JS optimiziation.

When I clear the caches and browse my site, all cached files include the Slimstat code. But if I use the cache preload option of WPFC or wait long enough, that some bots have come along, the Slimstat code is missing from the cached files. It looks like, there is a difference between a human user and a bot regarding generating the combined JS files. My first thought was, that if you use the DNT header of Slimstat, Slimstat will not emit the JS code, but if I switch DNT off, the result is the same.

Any hints?

Hello i’m experiencing a problem with the plugin, when i active the CSS and JS optimize
my homepage shows up a full white screen expect from my logo and the footer area that.
Why is this happening ?

woocommerce themes

Just a comment that autoptimize does not work well with woocommerce themes but has worked excellently with older themes. With any woo friendly theme I have tested at webpagetest.org running autoptimze I can’t get any first byte time but F. very frustrating.

code optimization – CSS long code execution & HTML extremely complex code

Hello,

I have a problem optimizing my site.

The page is immediately loaded, but it looks “terrible”.
Specifically, a slider (plugin) is not shown (home page only) and some elements are badly positioned (on all pages).

It takes a few moments to apply my custom css styles and the slider appears (and the content of the page is moved downwards).

I use an external plugin for CSS & JS – link

The problem is definitely not in code length, and css is always loaded in the “header” of the page. Plugin supports sass which I have activated. When I deactivated it, css styles will “do” in a shorter time, but it’s still too long.

The length of the load is also affected by the fact that the page has an extremely complex html code.

I found this plugin that could solve my problems.

But somehow I did not understand how this plugin actually works. After switching on, I did not see any change.

I’m probably stupid, but I did not understand this plugin at all.

Of course I would appreciate another idea how to optimize my web.

Please advise.

UPDATE:

The CSS code is executed immediately, and the page is already displayed with css styles.

The only thing to apply late is just the positioning of the elements.

How to exclude a plugin from caching

Hi there,
I’m having some issues excluding our AWM Metal Prices plugin from caching which i need to do as it is preventing the prices from being updated. Can you spot anything i’ve done wrong on the javascript exclude options below:

seal.js, js/jquery/jquery, js, plugins/cornerstone, wp-content/plugins/AWM Metal Prices/

I’ve noticed that when i’m logged into the wordpress site the pricing is updating, but as soon as i log out this stops…not sure if this gives you a clue where i’m going wrong or just makes it more confusing!?!lol

Anyway great plugin and any help you could give would be much appreciated.

Hello,

So I am not sure if I am making a bit of a rookie mistake, am overlooking something, or just made a ton of work for myself, but my site is looking great in chrome, but I seem to have demolished the css in the other browsers 🙁 please advise if there is anything I can do, before I keep digging myself deeper.

Font and naming

1) Could be possible to make the fonts autosaved from the same url , less http calls the speed would be faster is not it ?
2) I wish to hide the fact that i am using your plugin , unfortunately , your plugin is creating the autoptimize_32r414531531 random numbers and i could not hide this sequence. i respect your job , but how could be possible to change the prefix somehow , please ?thanks

Weird characters in CSS

Hi, I am using the plugin and have had only good experiences with it.
Just as I was browsing posts now I noticed that one of the quote blocks had a weird symbol where a guillemet was suppose to be.

It isn’t there on the other posts. I checked the CSS sheet for it, and it looks like it had some encoding issues or something.

Here’s just a snippet, so you get what I mean

Specifically for this blockquote,

(It actually showed on the page as ‘«’)

I tried reloading and a different browser, and the blockquote looked normal again. I once again opened the stylesheet, and it looked the same (was also same filename on the file, so it didn’t change).

Respected sir ,
Just got small question for you sir . Without autoptimize Plugin the page started responding faster. But the performance is low.
When i activate and do setting the page wait for cached file of .css and .js alot to Respond . That means The circle on the top of browser rotate 4-5 time after activation before it start showing the page . Before activating Plugin 2-3 time rotation of circle on the browser top before its start showing the page .

Which will finally result in increase in loading time . But Performance is Good .

So completely confused Should i optimize it or not . Or If i should optimize it then how i can reduce that circle rotation on the top of browser means less time in loading .

(Hotjar) external script non loading

Hi!

when AO is active, the Hotjar script is not loading. (It is correctly placed in the header and I can see it in the page source.)

Why does this happen?! Can I fix it inside AO?

CDN image does not reflect in generated CSS

Hi there,

It seems that the CDN URL is not used in the generated/optimized CSS (the CSS file itself is on the CDN URL though). It still uses the main domain’s URL.

We use KeyCDN together with the CDN Enabler plugin. Also the “Basis CDN URL” option is set to the CDN URL in the Autoptimize settings.

What could this be?

Best Slider for Autoptimize

One of the biggest issues of using a slider plugin is that it creates extra JS files and from what I am reading Revolution slider adds dynamic JS which is too bad since it is the coolest IMO. Is there a slider out there that Autoptimize can cache taking their JS files and CSS files and compiling them. We have about 8 external JS files and CSS files which when enqued in our functions.php of our custom designed Worpdress theme worked fine with Autoptimize and no bugs. My issue is the 3rd party plugins. Thank you.

How to make Autoptimize work with Motor Racing League?

Autoptimize doesn’t appear to be compatible with another plugin I use, Motor Racing League:

Motor Racing League displays a countdown timer using a file motorracingleague.js. When Autoptimize is enabled the clock does not work.

I had a look at the Motor Racing League plugin and noticed motorracingleague.js was enqueued using wp_enqueue_script but not registered using wp_register_script. I altered the code to register the script as well, and verified the clock still works without Autoptimize, but once I enabled Autoptimize it stopped working as before.

At present the only way I can make them work together is by adding motorracingleague.js to Autoptimize’s exceptions list. Obviously I’d prefer not to do this, so can you give us any guidance on how motorracingleague.js should be handled so it works within Autoptimize?

files not deleting

Regular autoptimize > after deleting cache and getting a result of 0 files in the dashboard. Looking with filezilla shows a persistent 9 pages with php page and a large matching file with NONE attached to it that are still in the cache. The only way I can get rid of them is to delete from server. This should not be happening. None of my other sites work like this. I have deactivated all files except for BPS my security plugin and autoptimize. 1st byte times on this site are .913 best amd worst is about 3.5 seconds even with comet cache enabled. The cache does not seem to make much difference in this site.

feedback beta 2.4.0-beta4

1. Using old Clean Retina theme because it has good mobile loads. Using the beta with no scripts excluded letting the beta handle all I got a pingdom score of full load 495ms which is the fastest score I have ever achieved on the main page. But webpagetest.org does not seem to like the setup I have as well as when I excluded scripts from autoptimze.

2. The clean retina theme has 4 font awesome fonts self hosted which are not covered in the remove query strings process and there is no place to input a path to have it included. Would be nice to have that option on remove query strings.

Still getting ‘Render Blocking JS/CSS” issues

Hi,

I have run a page speed insights test and I’m still getting complaints about:

Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content”

/cache/wpfc-minified/9km632dsfkg/80fzj.js
..etc
/cache/wpfc-minified/de7ynpcj/e17d4.css
..etc

They all seem to be within the /cache directory?

Is there a way of removing this? Is this an issue, if so how would I go about fixing it?

Optimize the Pagespeed Scores

Hi, I’ve been using the plugin from around 6-8 months if I remember as it’s easy to use without much complexity. At the start page speed scores were good, above 90 but right now when I checked the mobile score was under 50 and desktop was 81-85. It shows a message of Reduce Server response time 1.8 seconds while my site loads in 1.3 or 1.4 seconds.
There is also a message of LEverage Browser Caching –
