GDPR Plugin broken with Autoptimize

Hi Autoptimize
We use this popular plugin for GDPR complaince: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/cookie-law-info/
When we enable Autopimize option “Optimize JavaScript code” the cookie plugin is broken and does not display properly.
We tried excluding all the plugin’s javascript files under the “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize:” section, plus checking/unchecking “Add try-catch wrapping?” plus disabling “Save aggregated script/CSS as static files?” but the cookie plugin is still broken when we enable “Optimize JavaScript code” When we do not enable “Optimize JavaScript code” the cookie plugin works fine
Running WordPress 4.9.6, Autoptimize 2.3.4, GDPR Cookie Consent 1.5.6

Hello,
I installed Autoptimize, Async javascript and WP Fastest Cache. It was working fine at the beginning but trying to customise the plugin now it gives me a 404 page when I click Settings->Autoptimize.
I’ve disabled it, unistalled…installed again…nothing.. Any clues?

if turn on Optimize JavaScript, tinymice wont show up.

i want Exclude tinymice from Autoptimize but i don’t know what is the js file name.

i have try this tiny_mce.js, it doesnt work.

Hi,

I am using the Autoptimize for my sites, and on one particular site I got 2 mails in May’18 saying that

Mail subject:

Autoptimize cache size warning (url):

Mail body:

Autoptimize’s cache size is getting big, consider purging the cache. Have a look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/faq/ to see how you can keep the cache size under control. (site: http://domainname.in)

So, after going through:
– https://wordpress.org/support/topic/autoptimize-cache-size-warning/
– https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cant-get-rid-of-autoptimizes-cache-size-is-getting-big-message/

I made sure that:

1. also aggregate inline JS is disabled (it was)
2. autoptimize_cachesize_notice, remove the 1 (It was blank_

Plus, as suggested in mail, I also used purge all cache from the W3TC plugin I have on my site.

So, should I just purge all cache wheneven I get this mail, or do something else?

Autooptimize doesn’t optimize all JS files.

/wp-content/plugins/eu-cookie-law/js/scripts.js
/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/js/scripts.js
/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_gallery/static/thumbnails/nextgen_basic_thumbnails.min.js
/wp-content/themes/Avada/assets/js/main.min.js

Is it any solution for include also these files?
Is it possible that autooptimize doesn’t support these plugins ?

google fonts

I have tried everything, preconnect using the google fonts options that appear into the autoptimize plugin and unfortunately i have this sort of ¨jump¨ into the google fonts ? I am using just the free classic template of wordpress in order to try it before use it on another wordpress site . How could be this solved ? By the way into the preconnect option i am just entering https://fonts.gstatic.com instead of

https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/notoserif/v6/ga6Iaw1J5X9T9RW6j9bNfFcWaA.woff2

am I doing it correctly ?

Autoptimize 2.4 is coming in June/ July and the time has come to have it tested by as many people as possible!

What’s new, you ask? Well;

  • it is based on a great fork by @zytzagoo with significantly improved code-quality and automated testing (travis-ci)
  • it features a new version of the CSS minifier which is _a lot_ faster and more reliable
  • it allows users to minify CSS/ JS without aggregating it
  • excluded CSS/ JS now gets minified
  • it “listens” to page caches getting purge to clear its own cache as well
  • better Google Fonts optimization (aggregated Google Fonts CSS gets preloaded)
  • image optimization (free during beta, will remain free up until a still to be specified threshold per domain)!

How can you test, you ask? Well;

  1. download the AO 2.4 beta zipfile
  2. upload it as a new plugin
  3. deactivate the old 2.3.4
  4. and activate 2.4
  5. report any issues below as a Github issue

And if you find no issues, maybe say so here in a reply. It’s always good to know if it just works as well 🙂

PHP errors – lots of them…

I have PHP error tracking turned on and am getting the following error messages with plugin version 2.3.4 – no apparent issues with the plugin working, but the 6 errors are being generated EVERY SECOND. I have had to turn tracking off because the log file was over 7 MB and growing…

I recently switch my hosting from LiteSpeed server to apache. It’s having issue from yesterday. have not faced such issues before. I’m not getting errors if I turn off js minify.

toolbar.css versioning

Is it possible to get the toolbar versioning number set to the plugin’s version number? Currently it’s set to time which will cause the version number to change on every visit forcing the browser to redownload the file.

Cookie bar excluding does not work

Hello Frank,
sorry, I have a special question. When activating JS optimizing the “cookie law bar info” is not correctly displayed, hides in the footer, button not displayed etc.
Now I wnat to exclude it with “cookielawinfo.js” in the exclusion window but this does not help. Only deactivating js optimization let the bar untouched.
Have you got an idea what to do? The website really needs optimization… 🙂

Thrive Leads Vanished

Since using this plugin I have noticed that my thrive leads forms have vanished from my blog https://www.customlogoshop.com

Also, the blog seems to flash on load with a horrible non css design but my actual website loads smoothly. Would like my blog to do the same

css file of the plugin is not optimized?

Hello,

Great plugin, it removed the render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content, as described in google page speed. However, there is one line left under “Optimize CSS Delivery of the following”. And the line is a file of the plugin itself
mywebsite.com/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_eb63………242.css
I also use Async JavaScript plugin and speed up-optimize css delivery plugin.
How can I get rid of this line?

AO stops slider working on mobile devices

Hi

the testimonial slider on my home page only works on mobile devices when I uncheck ‘optimise JavaScript code?’ It seems to work ok on desktop.

So there must be something in the settings that’s stopping the testimonial slider on my home page from loading.

I’ve excluded these scripts from being optimsed:

seal.js, jquery.js, wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/assets/dist/js/site/, wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/assets/dist/js/site/cs-head.js, wp-content/plugins/testimonial-slider-showcase-pro/assets/vendor/slick/slick.min.js

But it still doesn’t work.

Can you assist?

Long TTFB always for the fist time every few hours

Hi,
I have a problem with my four different domains. The TTFB (Time To First Byte) is too long for the firs time, after the first visit it is OK, below 0.3s. After a couple of hours, it is too long again, about 3s.

I am just using Autoptimizer plugin and just with HTML minification, css minification (not css inline) and js minification (not for all .js).

I have a subdomain in pure HTML code without wordpress or cache plugins, and te TTFB is always OK, but my wordpress domains with Autoptimizer seems that something is happening.

Any sugestions? Thanks.

broken css

1) I have a wordpres website everything is working perfectly . I am using autoptimize+super cache . so everything is OK .
2) I have activated a premium plugin and all my css of my entire website is broken . After deactivating the premium plugin everything is normal again .
3) What should i do ?
3.1 ) Deactivate the autoptimize , activate the premium plugin and activate the autoptimize after that and everything would be fine .
3.2 ) another thing
